“Get a Job, Sir.”

Craigsearch

This simple program came about when I found I was checking up regularly on a few categories on craigslist.  I found I was sometimes spending a solid hour going through the same dozen pages or so looking for updates in different cities.

So, I present to you Craigsearch.  It presents you with three of the popular categories on craigslist.org (jobs, gigs, for sale), and lets you select what category pages you would like to open.  Then, just select the city you want to search in, click “search”, and your default web browser will open new windows for each of the checked items.  Then you can quickly skim them and close the windows much faster than clicking back and forth through various pages.

There is also a “saved searches” feature where you can keep an unlimited number of custom searches.  If you have a few different kinds of searches you do regularly, this can help keep them straight.  By default, the program opens the “Default.xml” search, so you can save your most common search with this filename and it will load into that search when you open the program.

**install note!   For the saved searches to work, place the entire Craigsearch folder (after you’ve unzipped it) into your main applications folder.**
